RE  :  NOTIFICATION OF COURT OPERATIONS DURING THE CONDITIONAL MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER PERIOD AND POST-MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER

We draw members’ attention to Bar Council Circular No. 145/2020 dated 8^th May 2020 in respect of the “Notification of Court Operations During the Conditional Movement Control Order Period and Post-Movement Control Order”.

We have received the said directives from Director of the Perak Courts, Puan Indra Nehru and the Deputy Registrar of the Ipoh High Court, Puan Zulyana. Those directives have been posted on our webpage at www.perakbar.org for further reference.

We advise members to keep updated of the same from the said webpage.

We have also posted the email address of all judicial officers in Perak so that it could facilitate in an event members have the need to contact them in case of any inquiries.

We are trying to get the cause lists of all cases from as many courts as possible in Perak and will also update them on our website for members’ reference.

On the same breath, we also advise members to write in and/or contact respective courts individually in regards to specific hearings/trials which were postponed due to the MCO.

For those members who will be attending court, kindly adhere to the Latest SOP, which is to prepare the ‘Borang Pelawat ke Mahkamah’ beforehand. The said form can also be downloaded from our webpage.

We will keep updating our members as and when we receive updates from the Courts.

We are also pleased to inform that we have resolved the earlier complaint by some lawyers that lawyers were prohibited from parking at the lower court complex whereby we have gotten the approval from the Pengarah to allow lawyers, preferably their cars having the Bar sticker, to park under the “bumbung” of the multistory car park based on availability, which is located on the right hand side of the guardhouse. Kindly do not park anywhere else at the lower court complex.
