A.      PERAK BAR COMMITTEE : PORTFOLIOS.

Please be informed that the 10 members were elected at the Perak Bar’s Annual General Meeting [ AGM ]  held on 19th February 2021 and 2 members were co-opted at the first meeting on 2-3-2021. We enclose the complete list of Committee Members and their respective portfolios for your perusal.

Members are advised to contact the respective committee chair for any related information and/or complaints.

For those members who are keen to serve the sub committees, please provide your particulars and areas of interest, and submit the attached form on or before  25th March 2021 (Thursday).

Perak Bar will endeavor to accommodate all requests, but reserves the right to make the final selection.

B.      REDUCTION OF PERAK BAR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION.

We understand the continuing difficulties that Members are experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Government’s Movement Control Order (“MCO”). Perak Bar reduced last year [ 2020 ] subscription to help ease the cash flow problem that Members are facing.

Having carefully looked through the financials and having considered the provisions of the Legal Profession Act (LPA) 1976 namely S.73 (i), (ii) and (iv), the Perak Bar Committee has on the 3rd March 2021 unanimously decided to reduce the current subscription of RM150.00 to RM100.00. The said reduction is only applicable for the year 2021 only. Members who have already paid their subscription, Perak Bar will refund the excess amount.

Please take note that although the reduction of RM50.00 may seem to be a small amount, it is a substantial amount which will affect the overall income of Perak Bar. The Committee has already taken cost-cutting measures and this amount (after reduction) collected from members will be just sufficient to cover the annual expenditure without any deficit.
