RE : CONVEYANCING : INCREASED LIMIT TO NUMBER OF PRESENTATIONS FOR INSTRUMENTS OF DEALINGS AT PTG, PERAK

To All Members of the Perak Bar,

This is to inform members that a meeting was held on 9/9/2021 with Dato Pengarah and other officials of PTG, Ipoh together with  several representatives including from Perak Bar Conveyancing Sub Committee.

A.          INCREASE IN LIMIT

We managed to persuade PTG to increase the number of daily presentations from the current limit of 150 to 300 with effect from the 13.9.2021 until further notice.

B.           SURVEY ON BACKLOG

At the same time, PTG has requested Perak Bar to furnish input on the backlog of the  number of instruments which are ready for presentation by each firm.

Kindly provide the required details in FORM C (pls click on same). Please fill in your number of ‘backlog’ and number of ‘bulk presentations’ as at 10.9.2021 in the respective columns.

Kindly ensure you furnish the correct info in the respective columns, to avert incorrect or misleading data compiled.

** ‘backlog’ means individual presentations, including transfers from one developer to individual purchasers within same project.

** ‘bulk’ means presentations under a single transaction (eg : a bridging loan secured by charge over 100 titles / transfer of 100 titles to a single purchaser).
The information gathered will be forwarded to PTG officials who have requested for such information in order for them to have an idea of the total number of pending instruments which requires urgent attention. The urgency on providing this information cannot be further stressed as time is of the essence in order for us to engage with PTG to facilitate clearance of all backlog before the end of the year. Therefore, we require all members to provide their details in  FORM C on or before  15.9.2021.

C.          NON FULLFILMENT OF THE QUOTA

Meanwhile, we are informed by PTG officials that some members are not fully utilising the limit of 10 daily presentation assigned to them. If your runner/ firm has less than 10 presentations for the appointed day, then kindly inform the representative of the Runner Association as early as possible, who will then attempt to slot in another/others who are awaiting an appointment, so that the limit  will be utilised to the maximum.

D.          MEMBER’S FEEDBACK

The Conveyancing Sub Committee has also been receiving feedback from some members on the present temporary system put in place effective 17.8.2021, for obtaining appointments for presentation of instruments of dealings at PTG, which is undertaken by the Runners Association and assisted by the Perak Bar Committee. All views expressed by members are appreciated and will be taken into account when considering and improving upon the said system. Kindly forward your feedback to perakbar@gmail.com.

Yours sincerely,

J. KAMALA MAHLINI
