YEAR END UPDATES
 
As we approach the year end, the Perak Bar Committee extends its wishes to fellow members of the Bar for continued goodwill and success in all areas of practice. There a few matters which require to be brought to the attention of members, as set out below:-

1. PROPOSED MEDIATION TRAINING COURSE IN IPOH, PERAK

 
There are ongoing plans for a mediation training course to be held, provided sufficient members indicate their interest. Please  note that the costs of this estimated 3-5 day course is likely to exceed RM 1000.00 and members who interested to join are requested to submit their names to the Perak Bar Secretariat by 15.1.2024 in order to enable the Committee to proceed to work with the Bar Council on the viability of arranging this course in Ipoh. There is every reason for members to actively engage in professional development as mediation already is and  is further likely to be enhanced as the alternative dispute resolution mechanism in courts in the near future which will open opportunities for mediators.

2. PERAK BAR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2024

 
An early indication is given for all members to ensure that the 16^th of February 2024 is kept free for attendance at our forthcoming AGM. Details to follow next month.

3. PERAK BAR T SHIRT AND CAP

 
Our very own branding on T shirts and caps is ready for purchase from the Perak Bar Secretariat at the relatively affordable price of RM 35.00 and RM 15.00 respectively. Members can view the items here.

4. ISSUES TO BE FORWARDED TO RELEVANT COMMITTEE MEMBERS

 
Members are reminded to forward any issue relating to practice to the relevant Committee member in charge, details as in the Perak Bar website.
