RE : REVERSION OF THE PERAK BAR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION TO PRE COVID-19 / MCO AMOUNT OF RM150.00


(A) PERAK BAR COMMITTEE : PORTFOLIOS

Please be informed that initially ten (10) committee members were elected at the Perak Bar’s 38^th Annual General Meeting [ AGM ]  held on 16th February 2024 and two (2) members were co-opted at the first meeting on 21^st February 2024. It is to be also noted that one committee member who was elected on 16th February 2024 had after the closing & confirmation of nominations on that day,  requested for her name to be withdrawn, leaving the committee with only 9 elected committee members. The names of the committee members and their respective portfolios are stated in the Perak Bar blue colour letter head
 
Members are advised to contact the respective committee chair for any related information and/or complaints. Members who are keen to serve the sub committees, please contact the respective committee chair.
 
Kindly be also noted that a new portfolio of “District Representatives” has been created representing different segment of districts in the state of Perak. Members are urged to kindly contact any of the said members in regards to any issues affecting members within the said districts.
 

“DISTRICTS” :
(a) The Northern Districts comprises of Taiping, Selama, Parit Buntar, Kuala Kangsar, Lenggong, Gerik, Pengkalan Hulu;
(b) The Central Districts comprises of Ipoh, Batu Gajah, Sungai Siput & Kampar;
(c) The Western and Southern Districts comprises of Teluk Intan, Manjung, Tapah, Tg Malim & Slim River.
 
(B) REVERSION OF PERAK BAR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION

Having carefully looked through the financials and having considered the provisions of the Legal Profession Act (LPA) 1976 namely Section 73(i) the Perak Bar through the 38^th Annual General Meeting held on 16^th February 2024, the  members had voted and decided to revert the current subscription from RM100.00 to RM150.00. The said increase is applicable for the year 2024 and the years thereafter.
 

1. PERAK BAR BANK ACCOUNT
 Members are to take note of the bank account operated by the Perak Bar Committee and the details are as follows ;

 All payments to the Perak Bar Committee are to be made to this account.
 
2. SUBSCRIPTION FOR 2024
 
Payment of subscription for the current year amounts to RM 150.00. Payments can be made either online or by cheque made payable to the PERAK BAR COMMITTEE. For online payment, kindly furnish proof of payment and indicate the name of the lawyer for whom payment is made, via email to the Perak Bar Secretariat. Official receipts will be issued in due course.
