AMICUS BRIEF : HOLDING THE STATE ACCOUNTABLE

As part of its continuing advocacy work and raising awareness on civil society issues, PERAK WOMEN FOR WOMEN SOCIETY (PWW) is organising the above one day seminar cum workshop for participants from the northern states of Kedah, Penang, Perak and Perlis.  The purpose of this seminar is to better understand the rationale and functions of amicus briefs AND to explore the use of amicus briefs to hold the government responsible to discharge its obligations, under international law and domestic law (including the Constitution) to protect women’s human rights.

 

PWW invites lawyers, human rights activists, women’s rights campaigners, child welfare workers, NGOs and other civil society interest groups to participate in the above seminar which will be held as follows:-
