RE : UPDATES FROM THE COURT LIAISON COMMITTEE

(A)   CHINESE AND TAMIL LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS

The Subcommittee together with our Chairlady have spoken to the Pengarah of the Perak Courts regarding this matter and have been given assurances that should there be a need for the language interpreter above you can write in for the same and if one is available on the date and time requested it will be provided for you. This applies for both civil and criminal cases as well.

(B)    RELOCATION OF THE LOWER COURTS
 

We have been informed by the Pengarah of The Perak Courts that the lower courts would be moved to Wisma Wan Mohamed, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Perak, 30000 Ipoh beginning December 2022. This is to accommodate the tearing down and rebuilding of the new lower courts which is scheduled to take 3 years or so to complete. Please note that parking may not be available for lawyers during this period at the new court house as parking spaces are very limited.

(C)    FEEDBACK ON E-FILING SYSTEM

We are seeking members feedback on E-Filing system in its present form and Bar Council is asking for any ways that the system can be improved. Kindly let us know what you like about the system and what you want changed and why.
