RE : FROM THE CHAIRMAN’S DESK (1/24-25): THE 60’TH PERAK – PENANG BAR GAMES, 2024

We are thrilled to share the resounding success of the 60th rendition of the Perak-Penang Bar Games held on the 18-19 October 2024, proudly organised by our dedicated Perak Bar Sports, Recreation & Health Sub-Committee, led by Puan Ruzitah Binti Sarbani and her remarkable team. Their meticulous planning, tireless efforts, and commitment to excellence ensured this historic event was a triumph to remember.

The Perak-Penang Bar Games, the oldest Bar Games in Malaysia, celebrated six decades of tradition and camaraderie with an exciting tie between the two Bars, as both sides won 6 games each. Nevertheless, despite the tie, the Games’ Championship Trophy (“Piala Pusingan Pertandingan”) was handed to Penang Bar being the away team (based on the “away game” rules).

We extend special congratulations to the Perak Bar teams for their victories in Football Premier, Netball, Volleyball, Pool, Darts and Futsal Premier—an incredible achievement that highlighted the talent and spirit of our members

This year’s Games also featured the non-competitive Futsal Veterans match, where Perak Bar emerged victorious, and a friendly Women’s Futsal tournament comprising mixed teams from both Bars. These events exemplified the unity and sportsmanship that these Games have championed for decades.

To crown the celebrations, the 60’th Anniversary Games Dinner at Miker Signature was a vibrant gathering of camaraderie and fellowship, followed by a joyous get-together at the Royal Ipoh Club. Adding to the grandeur was a first-of-its-kind beautifully designed participants’ medal, presented to every player as a token of appreciation and a lasting memento of this momentous occasion.

We also take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the Games ran smoothly. Your dedication behind the scenes played a vital role in the event’s success.
