Dear Members of the Perak Bar & Pupils in Chambers,

As we draw closer to the end of the year, I would like to share several updates and expressions of gratitude on behalf of the Committee.

A Heartfelt Thank You: Medical Fund for our staff, Charen (Kariam Kaur)

I am incredibly moved by the compassion shown by our members in support of of our administrative staff, Charen. Her recent medical bills amounted to over RM100,000.00, and unfortunately, these costs were not all covered by her insurance.

In response to our appeal, thanks to many of you, we successfully raised a total of RM10,658.00, which has now been passed on to her to help ease this significant financial burden. To everyone who contributed, please accept my sincere thanks for your kindness and for standing by a member of our Perak Bar secretariat in her time of need.

Update on Secretariat Staffing and Issuance of Perak Bar Certificates

We are happy to share that a new team member will join the Secretariat in mid-January 2026. Until then, Azie is ‘manning the fort’ solo. Our current priority is the processing of Perak Bar Subscriptions and the issuance of its certificates. Given the influx of last-minute applications, certificates may not be issued immediately “stat” following payment. We kindly ask for your kindness and patience toward Azie during this busy transition period as she works through the backlog.

Christmas Party

Finally, I would like to extend my appreciation to Sukhvinder Singh and his organising committee for hosting a wonderful Christmas party this past Monday. It was a pleasure to see many of you there. Thank you to everyone who attended for sharing your Monday evening with us and making the event such a festive success.

On behalf of the Perak Bar Committee, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a restful holiday season.
