RE: INVITATION TO ADOPT UNASSIGNED YBGK CRIMINAL CASE FILES AS AT 26^TH OF MARCH 2026

The Bar Council Legal Aid Centre (Perak) provides legal representation to impecunious and unrepresented Malaysians and foreigners in the areas of criminal law, employment law, family law and Syariah Law. The Centre also manages the assignment of files, claims and training on behalf of the National Legal Aid Foundation, commonly known as Yayasan Bantuan Guaman Kebangsaan (“YBGK”).

As of 26 March 2026, twenty four (24) files under the YBGK scheme remains unassigned. We invite Members of the Perak Bar to adopt these files.

Kindly be informed that the assignment of files will be at the discretion of the Secretariat, with fair distribution among lawyers as the guiding principle. The secretariat will only inform the particular lawyer who have successfully been assigned with the file.

Please be reminded that the adoption of YBGK files is only open to lawyers who are duly registered as YBGK panel solicitors and have successfully concluded Part 3 of the YBGK Training.
