3. SUPPORT FOR YOUNG LAWYERS – CONFERENCE SUBSIDY
In furtherance of its commitment to continuing professional development and the advancement of the younger generation of the Bar, the Perak Bar Committee also provided subsidies to 10 young lawyers from Perak to attend the International Malaysian Law Conference 2026.
This initiative was undertaken to provide young members of the profession with the opportunity to participate in discussions involving distinguished members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, academics and representatives of the international legal fraternity.
The Committee believes that exposure to such conferences is an important part of professional growth, enabling young lawyers to broaden their perspectives, deepen their understanding of contemporary legal developments and build meaningful professional networks.
The Perak Bar Committee takes pride in the participation of both its present and former leadership in facilitating discussions on significant constitutional, institutional and professional issues alongside distinguished members of the Malaysian and international legal fraternity.
Equally, the Committee recognises that investing in young lawyers is essential to the future of our profession. Our participation at IMLC 2026 therefore reflects two important commitments: contributing to the wider legal discourse and creating opportunities for the next generation of lawyers to learn and grow.
We congratulate Dr Saravanabavan Mathialagan and Mr Babu Raj Raja Gopal on their respective contributions and extend our appreciation to the 10 young lawyers who participated in the Conference.
The Perak Bar remains committed to strengthening its presence within the Malaysian legal fraternity while continuing to promote professional excellence, knowledge-sharing and the development of its members.
Thank you.
