To Members of the Perak Bar,
INVITATION TO ATTEND INDONESIAN CITIZENS’ LEGAL AID SCHEME (I-CLAS) TRAINING SESSION
17 FEBRUARY 2025 (MONDAY) | 10:00 AM TO 4:30 PM | PERAK BAR AUDITORIUM
The Indonesian Citizens’ Legal Aid Scheme (“I-CLAS”) is a new initiative jointly established by the Malaysian Bar and the Embassy of Indonesia to provide legal assistance to Indonesian nationals in Malaysia. Recognizing that access to justice should be a reality for all, the Malaysian Bar has partnered with the Embassy to ensure that Indonesian nationals-particularly those facing criminal, immigration, labour, family, and syariah matters-have access to legal representation. The scheme also includes outreach programs to educate the Indonesian community on their rights under Malaysian law.
Funded by the Embassy of Indonesia, I-CLAS operates on a sustainable funding model, ensuring that participating lawyers receive reimbursement for expenses and remuneration for services rendered, allowing them to focus on delivering justice.
The pilot program will initially be implemented across LAC Kuala Lumpur, LAC Selangor, and LAC Perak, with the potential for future nationwide expansion.
Therefore, we are pleased to invite you to attend the Indonesian Citizens’ Legal Aid Scheme (I-CLAS) Training Session, organised by the National Legal Aid Committee (“NLAC”). The details of the training is as follows:
