RE: OPENING OF THE HIGH COURT AT TAPAH, PERAK WITH EFFECT FROM 16 JULY 2026

We refer to the above matter.

We hereby notify that a new High Court will commence operations at Tapah, Perak, with effect from 16 July 2026 (Thursday).

The establishment of the High Court at Tapah forms part of the continued efforts by the Judiciary to enhance access to justice and improve the administration of justice within the State of Perak.

With effect from 16 July 2026, the territorial jurisdiction of the High Court at Tapah shall encompass the following districts:

1. District of Hilir Perak (Teluk Intan Courts)
2. District of Bagan Datuk (Teluk Intan Courts)
3. District of Batang Padang (Tapah Court)
4. District of Muallim (Slim River and Tanjung Malim Courts)
5. District of Kampar (Kampar Court)

Members are advised to take note of the above change when filing proceedings, managing existing matters, and advising clients on issues relating to the appropriate forum and venue for proceedings. We attach here with a copy of the letter from the Chief Judge of Malaya dated 11.6.2026 which is self – explanatory.

Members and Pupils in Chambers are kindly requested to note the above and make the necessary arrangements in respect of matters falling within the jurisdiction of the High Court at Tapah.
