RE: INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL & ADMIRALTY DIVISION (ICAD) CONFERENCE 2026

The Perak Bar is pleased to circulate an invitation to members to attend the Inaugural International Commercial & Admiralty Division (ICAD) Conference 2026, which will be held as follows:

Date: 17 October 2026
Venue: Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) Auditorium
Admission: Free of charge

The Conference is organised by the Legal and Business Academy of Malaysia with the support of Thomson Reuters Malaysia, CLJ Malaysia and Inns of Court Malaysia, in collaboration with the Selangor Bar.

The Chief Justice of Malaysia, Yang Amat Arif Tun Wan Ahmad Farid bin Wan Salleh, will officiate the Conference and deliver the keynote address.

The establishment of ICAD marks a significant milestone in the continuing evolution of the Malaysian judiciary. The Conference will provide a meaningful opportunity for members of the Bar to gain insight into the development and role of ICAD as a new division of the High Court, particularly in strengthening Malaysia’s position as a jurisdiction of choice for complex commercial disputes.

The Perak Bar has been allocated 50 complimentary seats for its members. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
