RE: UPDATE TO MEMBERS: PUBLICATION ON CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT OF EQUALITY – PERAK BAR CHAIRMAN’S COLLABORATION WITH TAYLOR’S UNIVERSITY IMPACT LAB (PEACE, GOVERNANCE & STRONG INSTITUTIONS)

Members are hereby informed that the Chairman of the Perak Bar, Dr Saravanabavan Mathialagan has recently co-authored an article entitled “Hearing the Voices of the Minority: A Peek into the Constitutional Right of Equality in Malaysia, India and South Africa” [2026] LR 21. 

The article has been published in the Thomson Reuters Law Review, a well-recognised international legal publication and was written in collaboration with the Impact Lab (Peace, Governance & Strong Institutions), School of Law & Governance, Taylor’s University, Subang Jaya, a leading academic research initiative focusing on governance, rule of law and institutional development.

This publication presents a comparative examination of constitutional equality and the protection of minority rights across Malaysia, India and South Africa.

The Committee extends its warmest congratulations to the Chairman on this distinguished and prestigious academic achievement.
