RE: LAUNCH OF THE PERAK BAR MEDIATION CENTRE AND MEDIATION AWARENESS DAY
The Perak Bar extends its heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to the Director of the Perak Bar Mediation Centre, Mr. S. V. Namasoo, his Committee and every member of the organising team for the successful launch of the Perak Bar Mediation Centre and the Mediation Awareness Day held on 10 July 2026.
The event was honoured by the presence of YB M. Kulasegaran, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), YB Dato’ Sivanesan A/L Achalingam, Perak State Exco for Human Resources, Health, Indian community affairs and National Integration, Yang Arif Dato’ Rohani binti Ismail, Judge of the High Court of Malaya at Ipoh, Mr. Anand Raj, President of the Malaysian Bar, Puan Murshidah Mustafa, Vice-President of the Malaysian Bar and Chairman of the Malaysian International Mediation Centre (MIMC), together with members of the Bar and invited guests.
In his keynote address, YB M. Kulasegaran highlighted the Government’s continued commitment towards strengthening mediation as an effective and accessible means of dispute resolution. The Deputy Minister also expressed his intention to engage with the Malaysian Bar to explore further collaboration in expanding public access to mediation services.
The launch of the Perak Bar Mediation Centre represents a significant milestone in the Perak Bar’s continuing efforts to promote alternative dispute resolution and to provide the public with efficient, practical and amicable avenues for resolving disputes. The Centre reflects the Perak Bar’s commitment to supporting the administration of justice by encouraging the resolution of disputes beyond the courtroom where appropriate.
The Perak Bar Mediation Centre remains an integral initiative of the Perak Bar and operates with the full support of the Perak Bar through its governance, administrative resources, Secretariat and institutional commitment. Its achievements are therefore achievements of the Perak Bar as a whole and its continued growth will depend upon the collective support and participation of our members.
The Perak Bar records its sincere appreciation to Mr. S. V. Namasoo and his Committee for their dedication, vision and hard work in bringing this important initiative to fruition. The success of the launch is a testament to what can be accomplished through collaboration, professionalism and shared purpose.
The Perak Bar looks forward to seeing the Centre grow into a leading institution for mediation in the State of Perak, contributing meaningfully to a more accessible, efficient and harmonious system of dispute resolution for the benefit of both the legal profession and the public.
