RE : RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED AT THE 39^TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF PERAK BAR HELD AT YMCA IPOH (THURSDAY, 13 FEB 2025)

MOTION TO GRANT THE PERAK BAR COMMITTEE THE FULL AUTHORITY AND DISCRETION TO PROPOSE BUILDING(S) / PROPERTY (PROPERTIES)  TO THE MALAYSIAN BAR FOR THE MALAYSIAN BAR TO SUBSEQUENTLY DELIBERATE AND PURCHASE THE SAID BUILDING(S) / PROPERTY (PROPERTIES)  ANYWHERE IN THE CITY OF IPOH FOR THE PERAK BAR’S ADMINISTRATIVE AND GENERAL USE.

Motion proposed by Vivekanandan A/L AMS Periasamy and seconded by Dr. Saravanabavan A/L Mathialagan, dated 28 Jan 2025.

WHEREAS: 

(a) The Perak Bar Committee has identified the need for additional space to accommodate the present and future needs of the members of the Perak Bar and to support the future growth of the Perak Bar.

(b) The existing premises currently used by the Perak Bar Committee is no longer adequate to meet the growing demands for administrative and professional activities and to serve the needs of the members of the Perak Bar.

(c) The Perak Bar Committee requires a new building that is suitable to replace the current premises and/or to be used as an additional building to support its operations and activities.

(d) It is in the best interest of the Perak Bar Committee and its members to have a facility that meets their current and future needs, providing a conducive environment for professional growth and enhancing the overall function of the Perak Bar Committee and its members.

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT : 

The Perak Bar Committee is fully empowered and given the full authority and discretion to PROPOSE BUILDING(S) / PROPERTY (PROPERTIES) TO THE MALAYSIAN BAR FOR THE MALAYSIAN BAR TO SUBSEQUENTLY DELIBERATE AND PURCHASE THE SAID BUILDING(S) / PROPERTY (PROPERTIES) anywhere in the City of Ipoh which the Perak Bar Committee finds to be suitable to replace, relocate, and/or serve as an additional building to the existing Perak Bar building for the administrative and general use of the Perak Bar Committee and its members.

The motion, as amended, was put to a vote and carried by a majority (65 votes in favor, 1 against, and 1 abstention).
