RE : UPDATE FROM BAR COUNCIL IN REGARDS TO THE CPD EVENT VOUCHER

“ We have been informed that on 5 March 2025 the Bar Council sent an email regarding CPD vouchers to Bar Members who have successfully earned 16 CPD points or more in a complete CPD cycle. These Members are entitled to two CPD event vouchers, which can be used for events organised by the Bar Council or the State Bar Committee.

These vouchers are only valid for Members who obtained 16 CPD points or more in the previously completed CPD cycle (Cycle 6: 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2024). Members may use CPD vouchers issued for “CYCLE 6” to attend seminars or webinars organised by the Bar Council or State Bar Committees. Kindly ignore any other CPD vouchers sent besides the ones for “CYCLE 6” as we are aware there were some vouchers sent for other cycles inadvertently by BC.

Attached below are the details of the terms & conditions and how to redeem the voucher for your reference and further action :

Terms and Conditions:

(1) These vouchers can only be used for Bar Council / State Bar Committee events (not exceeding RM30 in value) that are conducted at its own premises.

(2) To use the event voucher, you must register in advance for the event. Registration is based on a first-come-first-serve basis.

(3) The organiser(s) reserves the right without reason and / or notification, to disallow the use of the event voucher for selected events.

(4) Each event voucher may only be used by a current Member of the Bar / pupil in chambers for a single event.

(5) The event voucher must be submitted with the completed registration form prior to the event, and a printout of the event voucher must be presented at the event itself.

(6) Where the event registration fee is less than RM30, there will be no refund of the difference in amount.

(7) The event voucher is transferable to a current Member of the Bar / pupil in chambers.

We encourage the State Bar Committees to accept vouchers for their events. However, the State Bar Committees have the discretion to limit the number of vouchers that can be redeemed for specific events.

How To Redeem:

1. If a member wishes to redeem a CPD voucher, they must provide the organiser with the PDF version of the voucher saved from their email. The State Bar Committee must then inform the CPD Department for verification purposes.

2. Once the CPD Department responds with the voucher number, we will cancel the voucher to prevent it from being used for other events. ”
